This is the Institute’s premier keynote address honouring our first President Dr J. R. Vickery. J.R Vickery was a pioneer Australian food scientist and drove the industry forward during his time as head of the CSIRO Division of Food Research between 1940 and 1967.
Ros Harvey is an experienced entrepreneur and executive in the field of technology – particularly the Internet of Things (IoT) and user-centric design. Ros is committed to creating public good through the innovative use of technology, which is reflected throughout her career. Since Ros founded Australian AgTech company The Yield in 2014, it has become one of the industry’s fastest growing technology success stories. The Yield is backed by several leading global businesses including Bosch, KPMG and Microsoft. Ros is passionate about technology playing a role in the sustainable governance of the planet, and is an accomplished speaker on AgTech, IoT, converting data to knowledge and the future of food. Ros founded the globally-recognised Better Work program, a landmark joint program of the World Bank and the United Nations.
