Webinar: Diabetes in Australia

Over the last 10 years there has been 44% increase in the number of people diagnosed with diabetes between the ages of 21 and 39, and a 17% increase in diagnosis before the age of 20.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have some of the highest rates of youth-onset type 2 diabetes in the world.

The presentation will contain an overview of Diabetes Australia's recent State of the Nation report, as well as the recommendations from Federal Parliamentary Inquiry into Diabetes. These two significant reports highlight the impact of diabetes in Australia and the relevance of access to healthy food and drinks.

Our Presenter:

Hannah Jackson, National Manager Policy, Diabetes Australia

Hannah Jackson is National Manager Policy at Diabetes Australia and contributed to the drafting of the State of the Nation report. Prior to working for Diabetes Australia Hannah spent over a decade working in and around the Queensland Government.
