“It’s just pet food… right?”

“It’s just pet food, right?” how often we’ve heard this in the industry.  We also hear “how can this industry be unregulated?” … and we agree.

Food for your furry family members is purchased through a ‘human food lens’ and is the most ‘anthropomorphised’ animal feed due to the unique human animal bond. So, the challenge is to create a food and label that delivers an appropriate diet (sole food or snack), using food shared with or taken downstream from the human food chain, communicating benefits in a way that makes sense through that ‘human food lens’, and making it appealing to both the pet, and the owner.

“It’s just pet food, right?’… The making of food for our family members…

This informative webinar on Pet Food includes discussion on:

  • The pet food naming conventions depending on ingredient content
  • Claims of ‘Human grade’
  • Processed pet food v’s raw diets
  • The lack of regulation of the industry, and PFIAA’s push for a regulator
  • The difficulty of achieving a complete and balanced diet
