Kickstart your ESG Program

(from plastics to supply chain decarbonisation)

For most CPG/Food companies over 80% of carbon impact is within the supply-chain. Companies have a 24 x greater impact by focus on supply-chain over the direct operations.

So, where do you start?

Experts in supply chain collaboration Supply Pilot and Prof Consulting will introduce how to kickstart your sustainability activities.

We will share practical steps:

  • How to engage suppliers and understand their carbon literacy
  • How to engage all suppliers to understand their footprint
  • How to identify which certifications or standards to adopt
  • How to go beyond simple carbon measurement (e.g. responsible sourcing policy)
  • How to inform decisions and actions plan

Presenters:

James Butcher is CEO at Supply Pilot, has over 20 years’ experience working with food manufacturers, own brand and global retailers (from Woolworths Australia, to Walmart USA). A degree engineer with origins in manufacturing and factory automation, together with the Supply Pilot team, James now works to tackle key sustainability and compliance challenges for some of the world’s leading brands. Examples include helping Co-op achieve their goal of 100% RSPO certified palm oil, Walmart achieving a reduction of 20 million metric tonnes of GHG from their supply chain and SC Johnson increasing the material sustainability of their product portfolio. Through a consistent and clear approach to supplier collaboration.

James’ team created the Supply Pilot platform -that enables brands to deliver transformational change within the supply chain – and Six Step Process - a standard framework for product sustainability and social transformation projects. His objective is clear: if all suppliers can make all products a bit more sustainable, the cumulative impact on people and planet is enormous.

In addition to his leadership role at Supply Pilot, James is an alumni of the world-renowned Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CSIL), where he continues to advocate the need for inclusive supplier engagement.
