AIFST Webinar: Coeliac Awareness Week
Coeliac Awareness week for 2021 will run from March 13 – 20.
The aim is to raise awareness about Australia's relatively low coeliac disease diagnosis rate. An estimated 80% of people with coeliac disease don't know they have it, yet early diagnosis reduces the risk of long-term health complications.
Penny Dellsperger is the Health Advocacy Officer for Coeliac Australia. In this webinar, Penny will provide an update on the incidence of coeliac disease, treatments, a point of view of living with coeliac disease and new research.
About the presenter:
Mrs Dellsperger is an Accredited Practising Dietitian specialising in coeliac disease. She also has coeliac disease herself. Mrs Dellsperger is Coeliac Australia’s Health Advocacy Officer and has been with the organisation for over 15 years.
